Seeking Purpose

We all are seeking purpose in our lives.

We want to feel like we are making a difference. We want our lives to count for something. I have figured out that finding that purpose lies beyond our self-centered lives. It lives beyond "us" and in relating with others.

I am of the mind that we find our true purpose in bringing hope, love, and joy to the world. You may be a cynic and think that is quite utopian of me. But before you judge, try it out yourself.

What can you do today to bring some hope to your world? What can you and I do today to make a kid laugh or just enjoy the company of the people we encounter? Go ahead, try to put a smile on someone's face. If you fail, try again.

I have found fulfillment in this endeavor. While everyone around is focused on getting to the top of the ladder first, keeping up with the Jones', and attempting to accumulate stuff, I have found something real in reaching out to people and making them feel valued.

The world would be a different place if we all put aside our self-absorbed agendas and decided to try to make someone else happy.

Think about it....
