Authorities are starting look into why nine firefighters died in Charleston, South Carolina on Monday. It was just a matter of time before someone started asking questions about what started the fire and why. There are some interesting reports out there regarding why the structure collapsed.
Fire Engineering seems to be a good site to keep track of the developing scrutiny on this tragedy.
Over the next several days, many critics will begin to pick apart the decisions of the Charleston FD leadership organization on how this blaze was fought.
Hard questions need to be asked to help other fire fighting agencies learn as much as possible to prevent this type of thing from happening again.
But before the media frenzy picks up, let's take time to honor the nine noble men who gave their lives, doing a job they loved, for the sake of people they don't even know. The families of these nine heroes have also given more than they ever expected. Let us all pray for these families and this community in this time of deep grief and loss.
These men gave their all....and deserve the attention and respect of the world!
May we all endeavor to be so noble.
