Rest

Rest is a good thing.

All too often, I find myself getting wound so tight by the everyday rhythm of life. The tighter I get wound, the less productive I become. I think this is an interesting phenomena because this lower productivity is diametrically opposed to the length and urgency of my "to do" list.

We've just taken a few days to kick things way down in our family schedule and to just enjoy life together. Even though the "to do" list is still there, I'm glad I took the time to invest a little bit in what is most important in my life--my wife and my kids!

Nothing fancy, mind you. A few days away with some folks we love (with golf and swimming nearby).

We also took time to celebrate a birthday and a good health report for my Dad.

God knew in creating us that we need rest. This is the rhythm for which we are made.....to work hard, to play hard, and to rest deeply.

Now....I'm ready to get back to work!
