Communications Consultant Job Description:
Nationwide Corporate Communications is seeking a seasoned public relations professional with a strong track record of developing and delivering business-to-business media placements. The individual will work with internal communications, marketing, business partners, legal and government relations staff to support brand-building public relations initiatives. The role will report to the Director of Public Relations.

Seeking 7+ years related experience in a communications field, including managing corporate communications projects, editing and writing, communications coaching, developing & executing complex communications projects, including creating & implementing effective thought leadership initiatives. Agency experience and/or financial services background is highly desirable.

Key functions of the this position include collaborating with the Public Relations and Corporate Communications team to advise, consult and execute Nationwide Financial’s public relations strategies; identify strategic communications programs that promote Nationwide Financial’s brand; review and align activities with Nationwide’s reputation strategy; manage reputation issues in the media; develop initiatives in partnership with internal communications partners and other stakeholders to build brand advocates.

Qualified candidate will have a strong background in the following areas:

• Seven or more years experience creating and executing effective B2B (business-to-business) press and communications campaigns
• Ability to foster relationships with press and influencers
• Excellent attention to detail and collaboration skills
• Reputation and crisis management experience
• Strong written and verbal communications
• Strong history of providing effective counsel to clients and partners
